IBM 59DD is a 1.71 TB 10K small form factor SAS disk drive with 4K block size for IBM i Power Systems, and has 00E9938 part number. The IBM 59DD is also 1.8 TB 10K small form factor SAS disk drive with 4K block size for IBM AIX and Linux Power Servers, and has 00E9946 part number. The IBM 59DD is also a 1.8 TB 10K small form factor SAS disk drive with 4K block size for IBM Elastic Storage Server and has 00LY426 part number.

The IBM 59DD disk drive includes a Gen-2 carrier tray supported in SFF-2 SAS bays such as found in the IBM EXP24S storage drawer. The IBM 59DD disk drive is formatted for 4224 byte sectord, but can be reformatted to 4096 byte sectors for 1.8 TB capacity and would not have the 4224 byte additional data integrity protection.
