IBM AGKH is an LTO6 Fiber Channel Full-High Tape Drive can be installed in an IBM TS4300Tape Library Model 3555, has 00GH763 part number, includes two 8Gb FC ports, and has a maximum native data transfer rate of 160 MB per second, but will auto-negotiate to lower speeds. The IBM AGKH LTO6 Fiber Channel Tape Drive cables are not included and must be ordered separately and are required to attach the TS4300 IBM LTO Tape Library to a host Fiber Channel adapter. The IBM LTO6 Tape Drive is a high-performance, high-capacity tape storage backup and restore device for IBM i, AIX, Linux Power Servers and other open system platforms. IBM Ultrium 6 or LTO6 tape cartridge can store up to 2.5 TB of uncompressed data or up to 6.25 TB of compressed data assuming a 2.5 to 1 compression ratio.

Note: The full-high 00GH814 LTO8 tape drives provide faster data transfer rates than half-high LTO8 tape drives. For instance, 360 MB/s is the maximum native data transfer rate of a FH LTO8, whereas 300 MB/s is the maximum for HH LTO8. Both the HH and FH Ultrium 7 LTO7 tape drives have 300 MB/s maximum transfer rate, and both the HH and FH Ultrium 6 LTO6 tape drives have a 160 MB/s maximum transfer rate.

The actual capacity varies depending on the application, the type of data, and the tape cartridge. 2.5 TB is typical and 6.25 TB is possible when the Data Compression setting is activated. LTO data transfer rates are also greatly improved when using compression. The default setting of Data Compression is controlled by the host system. The user and the application software can control the activation or deactivation of the data compression setting. The drive can typically achieve a 2.5:1 compression ratio.
