Note: The full-high FH tape drives provide faster data transfer rates than half-high HH tape drives. For instance, 360 MBps is the maximum native data transfer rate of a FH LTO8, whereas 300 MBps is the maximum for HH LTO8. Both the HH and FH LTO7 tape drives have a 300 MBps maximum data transfer rate, and both the HH and FH LTO6 tape drives have a 160 MBps maximum data transfer rate. IBM LTO9 FH tape drives provide 400 MBps data transfer rates for uncompressed backups, and a whopping 900 MBps for the 12 Gb SAS Full Height drives and 700 MBps for Fiber Channel drives with 2.5:1 compression. IBM LTO9 HH tape drives have a 300 MBps maximum data transfer rate.
