IBM 3573-L32 TS3100 Tape Library Express Model
The IBM 3573-L32 TS3100 LTO3 Tape Library Express Model and TS3200 Tape Library Express Models use the new IBM LTO3 Ultrium 3 Half-High Tape Drive with a maximum tape drive throughput of up to 60 MB/sec in a 1U form factor height. The 3573-L32 LTO3 Ultrium 3 Half-High Tape Drive features are offered as LVD Ultra160 SCSI or 3 Gbps Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS). The 3573-L32 supports mixed Half-High Tape Drive types, and both the IBM TS3100 and TS3200 Tape Library incorporate Multi-Path Architecture with logical libraries equal to the number of drives installed.
When using the IBM LTO Ultrium 400GB Data Cartridge, the 3573-L32 LTO3 Half-High Tape Drive has the capability of writing up to 400GB native physical capacity (800GB with 2:1 compression). IBM 3573 LTO3 Tape Drives can read and write LTO Ultrium 2 or 3 Data Cartridges and can read Ultrium 1 Data Cartridges.
The 3573-L32 TS3100 Tape Library can accommodate up to two LTO Ultrium 3 Half-High Tape Drives and has two removable cartridge magazines, one on the left side (12 data cartridge slots) and one on the right (12 data cartridge slots). Additionally, the left magazine includes a single-cartridge I/O station designed to allow for continuous library operation while importing or exporting media. A remote management unit and a bar code reader are standard in the library, allowing the library to run in sequential or random access mode. Optional features available are a rack mount kit, additional attachment cables, and power cords.
The TS3200 Tape Library can accommodate up to four LTO Ultrium 3 Half-High Tape Drives and has four removable cartridge magazines, providing 48 data cartridge slots, including a three-slot I/O station. Remote management and a bar code reader are standard in the library, allowing the library to run in sequential or random access mode. Optional features available are a rack mount kit, additional power supply, additional drives, attachment cables, interposers, and power cords.
For Xccelerator and HVEC, the TS3100 Tape Library Express models come with an Ultrium 3 Half-High LVD SCSI Drive (SEO/part number 3573L32 or 95P4998) or an Ultrium 3 Half-High SAS Drive (SEO/part number 3573S32 or 95P5000). A second drive is available as an optional SEO/part number, allowing up to two Ultrium Half-High Tape Drives.
For Xccelerator and HVEC, the TS3200 Tape Library Express models come with a Ultrium 3 Half-High LVD SCSI Drive (SEO/part number 3573L34 or 95P4998) or a Ultrium 3 Half-High SAS Drive (SEO/part number 3573S34 or 95P5000). Additional drives are available as am optional SEO/part number. Up to four Ultrium Half-High Tape Drives are allowed.
IBM Ultrium 3 Half-High Tape Drives are designed to help improve performance and reliability, including improved native data transfer rates over Ultrium 2, Ultrium 3 tape cartridge physical capacity of 400 GB, two drive attachment options including new SAS Half-High Drives, and more highly integrated electronics using IBM-engineered copper technology.
