IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize SFF Control Enclosure includes two node canisters with 8-core Ivy Bridge Intel Xeon E5-2628lv2 processors, has 24 2.5" SAS SFF drive slots, supports up to 128 GB cache per system and up to 760 drives via 20 Storwize V7000 expansion enclosures. The IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize SAN includes six 1 Gb iSCSI UTP RJ-45 host connection ports and supports 8 Gb and 16 Gb Fiber Channel, 10 Gb iSCSI, 10 Gb FCoE, 25 Gb iSCSI RoCE and 25 Gb iSCSI iWARP connectivity. IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize SAN installs in a 2U 19-inch rack mount enclosure. IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize has a 7.74 PB maximum capacity and is able to virtualize external storage for a total of 32 PB combined storage. In a four-way clustered configuration, the IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize SAN supports up to 1 TB of cache and a total of 3,040 drives for up to 30.96 PB. Storage maximums for the IBM V7000 7026-524 Storwize SAN are achieved by using the IBM 15.36 TB read-optimized SAS SSDs.

The 7026-524 is a second-generation IBM V7000 SAN that is only available in refurbished or used condition, includes warranty and may include free technical support during normal business hours. Other IBM V7000 generation models include third generation 7026-724, second generation 7026-624 and first generation 7026-324 7026-312 7026-124 and 7026-112. The 7026-92F, 7026-24F and 7026-12F expansion enclosures are also supported on the newer 7026-624 IBM V7000 SFF Control Enclosure.

The 7026-524 IBM V7000 Storwize SAN supports encryption for data at rest for enhanced data security. Encryption is performed by the Storwize V7000 control enclosure for data stored within the Storwize V7000 storage system, as well data that resides on any attached expansion enclosures, and for data stored on externally virtualized storage subsystems. Encryption is enabled on a Storwize V7000 through the acquisition of the IBM ACE1 Encryption Enablement feature. The IBM ACE1 Encryption Enablement feature enables the ability to encrypt all data managed by the IBM V7000 Storwize SAN, including non-IBM storage systems that have been externally virtualized by the Storwize system. The IBM ACEA IBM Security Key Manager SKLM are required for encryption keys management. The IBM ACEA feature is a 4-pack of USB flash drives that are used for storing the encryption master access key.

The IBM Storwize Software enables all functional capabilities for the IBM V7000 Storage family. IBM Storwize Software delivers a variety of enterprise class capabilities, including thin provisioning, automated tiering, storage virtualization, Real-time Compression, clustering, replication, multiprotocol support, and a next-generation GUI. IBM Storwize Software also includes Bridgeworks SANSlide network optimization. When used in conjunction with each other, these industry leading technologies provide a rich set of functional capabilities and extraordinary levels of storage efficiency. Unified storage capability is provided by IBM Storwize V7000 File Modules that consolidates block and file workloads into a single storage system for greater simplicity and efficiency.
