The SAS cable connects the DASD Backplane with External SAS Port The IBM Power6 8203-E4A (#8345/#8346/#8310) to the rear bulkhead of the system providing connection via cable #3679 to a slot adapter SAS controller. This feature gives the user the ability to split the backplane, allocating a SAS controller for each half of the internal disks.
