Job Scheduler Software Oracle SQL iSeries AS400 Windows AIX Unix Linux Enterprise

Brand: RevSoft
Model Number: enterprise-job-scheduler

The Enterprise Job Scheduler can automate jobs on Windows, Unix, IBM iSeries AS400, AIX, Linux, HP-UX, Solaris and Mainframe systems, includes advanced features like complex job dependencies and variables for any application and database, security and LDAP integration, alerts, compliance reports, screen capture, high availability and much more. The Enterprise Job Scheduler’s GUI interface enables the same job scheduling features for every platform, providing visibility of every scheduled job, status of all system jobs and ability to manage scheduled jobs from any web enabled device (Windows, Android or Apple).

The Enterprise Job Scheduler software runs natively on all platforms and has more features than competing solutions, so there is no need to integrate with other job scheduling products. The Enterprise Job Scheduler is very flexible, allowing jobs to be scheduled by business unit, application, server or other environment criteria. The advanced job scheduler has many security features and allows you to use LDAP as your security model to control IT staff or user access. You can also view, manage and secure job scheduling by business unit, application, server or other business criteria. Detailed reports of the Job Scheduler's history, forecasts and changes are archived and sent via email in PDF or Excel format, including job properties, history and forecasts. Changes and deletions in the Job Scheduler can be easily reversed with a click of a button. If errors occur in any scheduled job, an automated alert gets sent and allows for various escalation actions based on environmental conditions.

The Enterprise Job Scheduler software provides High Availability functions to ensure no scheduled job gets missed. The Job Scheduler database can reside locally or a remote system (IBM iSeries AS400 must be local). Scheduled jobs can utilize different calendar types to match your fiscal year, including 13 month, 4-5-4, 4-4-5 and 5-4-4 calendar schedules. The Job Scheduler can group jobs to execute dependent jobs other systems, and can run multiple jobs that execute the same job stream several times according to variables without duplicating the scheduled job. The Enterprise Job Scheduler supports many advanced functions such as passing of variables to another job, which would typically be very complicated to do using other solutions.

The price of the Enterprise Job Scheduler is so affordable, a quick ROI can be achieved even if you replace existing job scheduler software.  Platforms supported by the advanced Job Scheduler software: any Windows, Unix, IBM iSeries (AS400), AIX, Linux, Solaris, HP or IBM Mainframe system.  Pricing models mirror your systems pricing policy. For example, IBM iSeries is priced per IBM software tier and includes unlimited LPARs.

Job Scheduler Features

Job Names can be up to 20 characters long. Job names can be changed without affecting the scheduled job Dependencies or Group structure.

Calendars are user defined Day Codes (Daily, Weekly, etc.), which can include Gregorian (12 Month), 13 (using 4 weekly periods) or 454 type (can be 445 or 544). Job Events can be defined to run based on Frequency of the Day Code in the Calendar (i.e. Every, Last, First occurrence of the DAILY in the Calendar WORK_DAYS). User defined Calendar exceptions and Holidays are very flexible.

Dependencies can be used to start a Job.  Jobs do not have to be scheduled to run by date or time. However you can also use a combination of Dependencies and time. For example, a User Job Monitor can be used as a Condition to start a batch job, and only between a certain time ranges, execute job immediately or pass a Job for execution. Job Dependencies can be set to expire or never expire, and can be based on local or remote systems. Dependencies can utilize most job related attributes.

Environments are used within the Enterprise Job Scheduler to Job Events to be promoted from Q&A, Development and Production. Environments designated at High Availability are automatically shadowed to Fail Over to other systems in the event of an unplanned or planned event.

Group Jobs are able to execute Child Jobs on both Local and Remote Systems. Each Child Job is able to monitor for messages, have Intra Group Dependencies and Branch to another Group sequence based on the completion status.

Intra Group Dependencies utilize the standard Dependency structure and can use Boolean Logic, such as IF, AND, OR connectors.

High Availability is inherent to the Enterprise Job Scheduler and operates independently of customer owned HA solutions. Job events are shadowed in real-time and utilizes an integrity checker to compare definitions on both systems and highlights any differences. The HA role swap takes only seconds to complete.

Job Day Codes can be different for each Job Event or “versions” of the same Job Event, and can be up to 10 characters in length.

Job Sheet includes all the Job Event details and related environmental components in a PDF report for auditing or documenting job histories or log of approval authorizations.

Multiple Run Jobs enables Job Events to execute in intervals and at specified times.

Operations Panel is intuitive web interface for managing your scheduled jobs on every system in your company. It runs on any Windows, Android or Apple device, and provides simple point and click implementation, monitoring and management of any Job Event. Running jobs will change color depending on their current status. Jobs can be forced to run, put on hold and operators are able to investigate and manage all systems from a single interface from any web enabled device.

Screen Capture & Run initiates interactive jobs while capturing and storing all the details of the process, including screens, keys pressed, data entered, user modifications and data/time stamp. This feature can be used for unattended jobs and mimic jobs for use in the job scheduler.

Submit Job Function (SMB command) executes a background or batch job by sending it to a Job Queue and then be processed by a subsystem, which can be directly or transparently by a user to run Menu options, user written programs, commands, applications and ERP packages.

Submit Job Spy monitors the Submit Job command for job dependencies and can trap and capture submitted jobs. This monitor can be used to intercept any SMBJOB and capture all the Job Event details, allowing you to mimic ERP menu options, user written applications and anywhere else an interactive command can be run.

User Job Monitor intercepts any batch jobs submitted from a Menu, user written program, application, commands, ERP packages, remote commands from a different platform or any Windows application, then converts them into Job Events to be used in the Enterprise Job Scheduler.

Security allows both environmental and module controls, allowing you to control: authorized users, access to commands, access to menus, screens and functions in the operations panel, as well as permissions to environments and job events.

LDAP Security support is provided to authorize access to the Enterprise Job Scheduler using corporate security policies.

Auditing keeps a detailed log of every change that is made to a Job Event or any of its components (Calendars, Environments, Security, User Values, User Defined Variables, and other operational options) including before and after image of changes.

Undo Changes and Undo Deletes of a Job Event or component. Auditing keeps track of before and after changes for future rollback if needed. All changes are easily identifiable by their blue font.
