IBM 5138 Redundant Power Supply and Cooling

The IBM 5138 Redundant Power and Cooling module provides redundant power for IBM 0595 and 5095 PCI-X Expansion Towers, typically used with IBM 9406 AS400 system models and early IBM Power system models. The IBM 5138 Redundant Power and Cooling includes a second 435W power supply, and requires that a second line cord be specified. The second line cord enables dual line cord capability. The IBM 5138 Redundant Power Supply and Cooling requires OS400 V5R2, or later for AS400, IBM AIX 5L for IBM POWER V5.2 or later for IBM eServer, IBM Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Hardware on POWER Version 3 or later, SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 or later for IBM POWER systems.

The IBM 5138 Redundant Power Supply and Cooling can include an optional 850W AC Power Supply, which installs in a system unit and provides redundant power for over twice the length of time.
