The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter provides four Fiber Channel port connections capable of running at 16 Gbps. All of the ports of the 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter can auto-negotiate to 8 Gbps for compatibility with slower networks. The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter can be used for Host connections by using standard Fiber Chanel SCSI or FC-NVMe, Replication links, and Communications between IBM FlashSystem control enclosures. Connections can be made via a Fiber Channel switch, or as a direct connection to a host or to a IBM FlashSystem controller. Each Fiber Channel port of the 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter has a Short-wave SFP transceiver that is installed as standard and can be connected with an LC-to-LC Fiber Channel cable. Long-wave SFP transceivers are available as an option for implementing long-distance links. The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter has IBM feature code ALB3 and ALBJ 16 Gb 4 Port Adapter Fiber Channel Adapter Pair provides two I/O adapter cards, each with four 16 Gb FC ports and shortwave SFP transceivers. The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter is used to add 16 Gb FC connectivity to the FlashSystem control enclosure. The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter also supports longwave transceivers that can be intermixed on the card with shortwave transceivers in any combination. Longwave transceivers are ordered using IBM ACHU feature. The 03JK178 IBM 16Gbps FC Quad-Port Adapter is supported on IBM FlashSystem 5200 4662-6H2 and 4662-UH6.
