IBM 5784 iSeries PCI-X 1Gbps Fiber iSCSI HBA feature

The IBM 5784 iSeries PCI-X iSCSI HBA Fiber feature provides a 1Gbps Fiber iSCSI target HBA thats used to connect an iSeries system to iSCSI initiator HBAs installed in selected System X models or IBM BladeCenter blade servers. The iSCSI connection provides iSeries systems management, networking, and disk consolidation features to attached System x or Blade servers using a 1Gbps Ethernet LAN. The IBM 5784 uses small form factor LC type fiber optic connector, provides 1000Mbps connectivity on a standard shortwave (850nm) 50/ 62.5 micron multimode fiber optic cable. The IBM 5784 supports distances of up to 220m for 62.5u MMF and up to 500m for 50.0u MMF over single port. #5784 conforms to the IEEE 802.3z standard.

The IBM 5784 iSeries PCI-X iSCSI HBA Fiber feature is supported in the following iSeries system models: 520-9405, 520-9406, 525-9406, 550-9406, 570-9406, 595-9406, MMA-9406, 515-9407, M15-9408, M25-9409, M50-9411

The 5784 for iSeries Systems is only available in used/refurbished condition as of January 7, 2011.
