The IBM LTO8 Tape Drive is a high-performance, high-capacity tape storage backup and restore device for IBM i, AIX, Linux Power Servers and other open system platforms. The IBM AGKM LTO8 Fibre Channel Half-High Tape Drive with 00GH812 part number can also be purchased in a full height format as IBM AGKP LTO8 Fibre Channel Full-High Tape Drive with 00GH814 part number, but has two 8Gb ports and a 360 MB per second maximum native transfer rate. The IBM AGKN LTO8 SAS Tape Drive Half-High with part number 00GH810 has a 300 MB per second maximum transfer rate.

Note: The actual capacity varies depending on the application, the type of data, and the tape cartridge. 6 TB is typical and 15 TB is possible when the Data Compression setting is activated.
