8286-41A IBM Power8 Memory S824

IBM 8286-42A Power8 system supports up to 16 Memory DIMMs for a maximum of 4TB of main storage for S824 systems with 2 sockets (processor DCMs) and 1 TB maximum memory for single socket (processor DCM) systems. IBM Power8 memory for all 8286-42A system models must be installed in identical pairs, but can be of different sizes from other memory pairs. The 4794 Power Active Memory Expansion Enablement feature enables memory expansion on the 8286-42A system, providing compression and decompression of data in memory which expands the maximum memory capacity for additional processing capacity and better performance.

The IBM 8286-42A model supports the following Power8 memory features:

EM91-8286 16 GB CDIMM, 1600 Mbps, 4 Gb DDR4 DRAM
EM92-8286 32 GB CDIMM, 1600 Mbps, 4 Gb DDR4 DRAM
EM93-8286 64 GB CDIMM, 1600 Mbps, 4 Gb DDR4 DRAM
EM94-8286 128 GB CDIMM, 1600 Mbps, 4 Gb DDR4 DRAM
EM95-8286 256 GB CDIMM, 1600 Mbps, 4 Gb DDR4 DRAM
