IBM 3580 L3E TS2230 Single External LVD SCSI Tape Drive Express

IBM 3580 L3E aka H3L TS2230 Single External LVD SCSI Tape Drive Express Model. The IBM 3580 Model H3L is a half height external LTO3 Tape Drive. The H3L or L3E as it is also known comes with a SCSI Ultra160 LVD attachment, for connection to a wide spectrum of open system servers. The model will attach to selected System x and PC servers that support System i, System p, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Microsoft Windows 2003, Linux, and other open systems.

Maximum data transfer rates are 60MB/Sec Native and 120MB/Sec if 2:1 compression is achieved.

The 3580-L33 is supported by the following operating systems;

The Model H3L aka L3E has an Ultra160 SCSI Low Voltage Differential (LVD) interface. Similar to previous models, the 3580 Tape Drive can be attached to the IBM System i and i5, IBM System p and p5, xSeries, and non-IBM servers, workstations, and personal computers that support those interface specifications.
