Used for attaching the iSeries to IEEE standard 802.3Z high-speed (1Gbps) Ethernet TCP/IP LANs. It can also be used to connect to existing 100Mbps Ethernet LANs via switches with 10/100/1000Mbps ports. The adapter supports a multi-mode fiber interface with a 62.5 micron of 50.0 micron cable requirement. The adapter has a duplex SC fiber-optic connector for attachment to customer supplied cabling. #2743 only supports TCP/IP connection; SNA and IPX connections are not supported.
