Determine which Thin Client is right for your environment

Step 1: Determine Whether You Need an "Intelligent" or "Dumb" Device

Dumb Thin Client Requirements
   * Connection via Citrix or RDP to a Terminal Server and/or a Host computer such as iSeries, zSeries etc.
Continue to Step 2 to decide which is appropriate for your organization.

Intelligent Thin Client Requirements
   * Provide Java-enabled Web browser
   * Support for e-mail client
   * Desktop application icons
   * Embedded applications essential
If any of these statements are true for your organization, you should choose either a Windows XPe-based thin client (XTC-400 or XTC-1000) or a Linux-based thin client (LTC-400 or LTC-1000).  Jump to Step 3

Step 2: Which Dumb Thin Client? Consider one of the following approaches:

   * Emulation-centric (emphasis on 5250 / 3270 green screen applications) - Use BOSaNOVA TBT-350. Text-based terminal, great for green screen replacement with built-in Windows connectivity.

   * Server-centric (emphasis on Windows applications)
BOSaNOVA WTC-350: Powered by Windows CE.NET v4.2 (Zero footprint)
BOSaNOVA WTC-450: Powered by Windows CE.NET v4.2 (Faster processor and more memory)

Step 3: How to Decide Between Windows XPe and Linux.

Windows XPe based, if you require:
   * Windowing support (multiple concurrent applications active on the same screen at the same time)
   * Windows type interface, delivering the "look and feel" of a Windows 2000 desktop
   * High performance with embedded applications
   * X-Windows support
   * File server support without requiring a TSCAL (Terminal Server Client Access License)
   * JVM support
   * Macromedia Flash support
   * Fast processing speeds
Then choose the appropriate Linux-based LTC-400 or LTC-1000 model from Step 4.

Linux based, if you require:
   * The fastest graphics processor on the market
   * PCMCIA, PCI expansion ports
   * Standard Windows desktop
   * Full IE 6.0 browser with JVM and Macromedia Flash support
   * Customization; Additional windows applications embedded.
   * Connection to Windows file servers without TSCAL
BOSaNOVA XTC-1000 is the right thin client for your organization.

If you need:

   * Standard Windows desktop
   * Full IE 6.0 browser with JVM and Macromedia Flash support
   * Customization; Additional windows applications embedded.
   * Connection to Windows file servers without TSCAL
BOSaNOVA XTC-400 is the right Thin Client for your organization.

Step 4: Which Linux-based Thin Client?

Wireless connectivity via PCMCIA
BOSaNOVA LTC-1000 is the right thin client for your organization.

USB Wireless
BOSaNOVA LTC-400 is the right thin client for your organization.
