The IBM 7208 8mm tape drive provides an excellent solution to users of 8mm tape who require a larger capacity or higher performance tape backup. This tape drive is an external, stand-alone streaming tape drive which, depending on the model, can store up to 60GB of un-compressed data. With up to 2.5:1 compression,(model-dependent) the 7208 can store up to 150GB of data per cartridge with a transfer rate of up to 30.0MB/sec.
