LXI’s Tape Management Software protects corporate business-critical data across the enterprise, including the iSeries, UNIX, AIX, Linux, and Windows.
Data availability is critical for successful recovery, and in the Information Lifecycle MMS/tms provides end-to-end data protection. From creation to expiration, tools are provided to simplify, prioritize, automate and protect data at every stage. Quick access to AS400 Backup data, extensive inquiries and reporting capabilities, protection from accidental overwrites gives corporations full confidence of knowing that the data will be available in case of a disaster.
Maximize the throughput of your iSeries Tape Management Software, improve administration and simplify overall management by implementing LXI’s AS400 Backup Recovery and Vault Management solutions, and learn how our intelligent backup ensures that all your data resides on tape media.
**IMPORTANT NOTE** Of the top three iSeries AS400 Tape Management Systems products in the industry, only LXI avoided the temptation to write their Tape Management System as another layer of code with proprietary SAVE commands and restrictive procedures. Only LXI’s Media Management System (MMS) is SAA compliant and takes full advantage of OS400 tape exits to offer “transparent” and comprehensive tape tracking. What does this mean? In the event of a disaster, you can restore your data without having LXI's software installed on the backup machine. Hmmm. How ingenious.
Why LXI says “NO!” to Proprietary SAVE Commands
* Exclusive use of proprietary SAVE commands can equate to lost data, missed backups and delays in recovery.
* Requires reprogramming of existing programs or scrapping them completely. (Requires reprogramming of applications with internal backups or the backups will not be tracked. / Ad Hoc backups require special attention or they will not be tracked. / Additional layer of code means ongoing maintenance from every customer.)
* Non-IBM terminology means additional training and complexity with increased implementation.
Plus, the proprietary approach that other vendors use is neither comprehensive nor automated enough; is too restrictive, too cumbersome to implement and manage and requires a lot more training.
